3a - Blackout!
Joshua Cashill - ESSENTIAL ENGLISH

Blackout!

It is raining tonight.

It is raining very hard.

It is also very windy outside.

I can hear the wind blowing.

I am watching my favorite series on Netflix.

Suddenly, the lights go out!

There is a blackout!

It is very dark in my house.

The TV does not work.

The refrigerator does not work.

The microwave does not work.

I can’t charge my cell phone.

None of the electrical devices work!

I have an idea!

It is very dark in my house, but I have candles.

I can light a candle.

Then I will be able to see better.

I can’t watch TV, but I can read a book.

I have a book that I want to read

I think I will light some candles and read my book.

I am about to light a candle when suddenly…

The lights come on again!

Yay! I can continue watching my favorite series on Netflix again!

Oh, no! Not another blackout!
