HARRY POTTER Book 4: Chapter 5
Chapter 5
THE WEASLEY’S MAGIC TRICKS
Harry continues to spin, faster and faster! He passes many fireplaces on his crazy journey! He begins to feel sick, like he is going to throw up. Finally he begins to slow down, and then he falls through a green fire.
He lands on the floor of the Weasley’s home. He is at the Burrow. The Weasley’s home is a warm and busy place. “I’ve got him!” says Fred, laughing. Fred helps Harry up. “Hi, Harry! Welcome back!” “Thanks,” says Harry. “Did he eat the candy?” asks Fred. “Yeah,” says Harry, cleaning his glasses. “What was it?” “Tongue-Tied Toffee,” says Fred happily. “George and I invented them. We wanted to test them on someone.” Harry looks around. He is in the Weasley’s small kitchen.
The room smells like delicious food and wood smoke. There is a clock on the wall. It is not like a normal clock. It has no numbers, only the names of the Weasley family members, and words like “home”, “lost”, “work” and “mortal danger”. Harry feels at home immediately. Hermione and Ginny are there, too. Then Harry sees two people he has never seen, but he knows who they are: Bill and Charlie. They are Ron’s older brothers.
The two boys greet Harry kindly. Charlie has a kind face that is full of freckles. He is shorter and stronger than the other Weasley boys. He works with dragons in Romania. One of his arms has a burn on it.
Bill is a surprise to Harry. Harry knows that he works at Gringotts Bank, and that he was Head Boy at Hogwarts. But there is only one word that can describe Bill: cool. He is tall and has long hair. He looks more like he is in a rock band than a bank.
Behind him, the fire flashes again suddenly. Mr. Weasley falls out of the fire, coughing. He is covered in black ashes. He looks angry and worried. “I had to fix Dudley,” he says quickly. “But his mother wouldn’t let me near him. Poor boy! His tongue was a meter long before his mother let me fix him!” Fred and George laugh loudly.
